The big bang theory is a show in which was highly constructed to entertain it's audience. This programme does this by including a lot of witty humour, and representing different types of personalities/people through each character. This show entertains by providing an escapism from everyday life, as well as making people laugh along the way. This is a feel good programme, so many people that start to watch this programme, often continue because they like the show and they like the way that it makes them feel. It is an emotional release from everyday life and stress. The big bang theory follows the two-step flow. Which means that an active audience will discuss the media text and will be influenced by the opinions of others. This show often gains watchers by the fact that people talk about it, and word goes around about how funny it is and how good it makes you feel. So others then want to watch it.
